It is not philosophy or religion\, but practical techniques\, methods and beliefs\, based on the ability to use the laws of Nature and Cosmos. \nThe word shaman means “the one who knows”\, comes from the root sa – “to know” and comes from the language of the East Siberian Evenki. But a shaman is also “the one who searches in the dark.” Shamans are healers\, priests\, visionaries in communication with the world of gods and spirits. These are the predecessors of modern doctors\, psychotherapists\, psychiatrists and ecologists. \nShamanism itself occurred mainly in the tribal communities of Siberia and Central Asia\, for which it was a fundamental factor of life. But elements of shamanism were and still are present on all continents of the world\, as are the basic beliefs: the existence of two realities (visible earthly and invisible spiritual)\, similar cosmogony and belief in the Three Worlds: Lower\, Middle – earthly and Upper\, and the idea of the Cosmic Tree \, which connects these three worlds. \nShamanic traditions share a belief in the existence of spirits and a spiritual world from which knowledge\, power and healing come. And also the belief that everything that exists has a soul or spirit. The basic assumption of shamanism is the existence of the world of spirits\, and a shaman is a person who can enter this world and cooperate with invisible powers. \nFor centuries\, shamans have been maintaining harmony between the real and the spiritual world\, between man and nature\, healing\, reading the future\, and mediating relationships between people and spirits. They are a bridge between the earthly world and the invisible one\, they mediate between the world of spirits and the everyday life of ordinary people. \n \nAccording to shamans\, everything that exists in nature is animate and has a soul. Minerals\, plants\, animals\, rivers and even the entire universe have their own spirit or soul. Everything that lives is filled with energy and is connected to each other. We relate to energy to everything around us\, not only with people\, but also with all of Nature\, which creates the Circle of Life. Shamanism teaches that everything is connected via an invisible energy network\, everyone influences others\, the surrounding world\, other people\, Nature and the Elements. No one is separated. \nWe live in a network of energetic\, spiritual\, social and mystical connections. Our every smallest move\, every thought and decision introduce vibrations into this network\, a new vibration. The natural landscape is Mother Earth and the Nature is sacred. Shamans can perceive and use the energy of stones\, plants\, mountains\, rivers and animals in their practice. They assume the constant presence of the spiritual world in all manifestations of Nature. \nShamanism is also the memory of our Ancestors\, roots\, tradition and culture. Respect for the past and those who lived before us. Using the ancient wisdom\, knowledge and rituals of our ancestors. We express our respect for our bodies caring for them\, listening to their needs and satisfying them. We care about our temples when we make love\, meditate\, relax\, eat healthy and fresh food\, pampering the senses. But equally important is the attention to the appearance of our bodies and their ornamentation. Especially during the Festival of Tantra and Sexuality\, which is a celebration\, we wish that every teacher and participant emphasizes the beauty and radiance of the temple of his or her body. Please make sure that your clothes are not only convenient and comfortable\, but also festive\, decorative and full of harmony. \nTANTRA TEMPLE\nIt’s a beautiful place with Tantric Altar\, where you can feel the profound spirituality of Tantra. You can come with your partner or alone. You can sing mantras\, meditate or just sit in silence. The Temple is decorated with paintings and flowers\, saturated with pleasant fragrances\, filled with romantic music and enveloped in soft\, diffused light. Each day a different tantra facilitator supports the Temple with his/her energy. So last June 2024 we had our 4th edition at Landgoed Energy Up with a team of great international facilitators\, musicians and dj’s.  \nIt was fantastic\, so we will do our 5th Festival edition\, June 18-22 again in nature.  \nWe welcome all ticket holders for the registration on Wednesday June 18 between 11:00 and 13:00 (option early arrival on Tuesday June 11). The Opening Ceremony (mandatory) is at Wednesday 14:00. The festival ends on Sunday 22 of June at 16.00 hrs.  \n5 days of joy with the choice from 60 workshops\,  6 Temples\, Concerts\, Solstice Rituals in nature\, Performances\, Ecstatic Dance\, different types of accommodation possibilities\, breakfast and 12 warm vegan meals included. An amazing team of 30 international facilitators will offer you a range of different tantra practices and support your tantric path with workshops\, meditations\, ceremonies and temple nights. A group of musicians\, performers and DJ’s will be also part of the joy! \nTantra practices support the spiritual path to feel connected to all beings\, to experience loving awareness. Tantra is also a spiritual path where the body and our nature is seen as an expression of the divine in us. And our body needs grounding\, needs being felt\, healing\, acceptance… We are so happy about the nature space that will allow us to fly even higher because of the grounding of the earth and the elements. Every day we will have another theme: \nDay 1 Connecting and Grounding \nDay 2 Nourishing your body and emotions \nDay 3 Discovering and Playing \nDay 4 Moving your life force energy \nDay 5 Spirituality and Integration \nYou can come to the festival with or without experience in tantra. A festival is a beautiful space to become acquainted with different tantra styles. The diverse facilitators will invite you to explore and express different aspects of your being\, with respect for your boundaries and what you need at that moment. All aspects of your person are welcome to show up. Your most light and joyful parts\, but also the more difficult ones. \nWe wish the festival to be a space where you feel welcome whatever sexual expression or gender identification you have. We are open to the discussion about the concepts of women\, men\, the polarities masculinity and femininity and the concepts of masculine and feminine energy. We are also aware to adhere to what pronoun/other participants and facilitators would like to be addressed. We celebrate diversity and that is why we do not have a day dedicated to men and women genders. There may be some workshops that you can go if you identify with a specific gender\, but most of them will be open to everybody. \nWHAT IS TANTRA FOR US?  \nTantra is a spiritual practice that enables us to embrace all aspects of life. Tantra can be seen as a way of living. You can integrate tantra in your daily life and it is accessible to every human being. \nTantric practices use different elements to support the intention to embrace life in all aspects: meditations\, knowledge and practices of the energetical body (subtle body and chakra system)\, rituals\, deity devotion\, visualizations\, breath work\, body awareness… In the festival we offer you a big range of different practices. \nTantra is an ancient practice that has found the way to our modern times. We find it important to make a distinction between Classical Tantra and Neo-tantra. Classical tantra is a spiritual movement that had its peak in India\, around the 9th-12th centuries. In that time the tradition of Shaiva Tantra was wide extended and influenced all existing Asian religions: Buddhism\, Taoism\, Jainism and other religions that nowadays are called Hinduism. Still in modern times this influence can be identified. As an example\, the chakra system common in yoga has its origins in Classical Tantra. Also most of actual practices in Tibetan Buddhism are adopted from Shaiva Tantra. \nTantra was back then a radical path that offered to all people the possibility to awaken trough yogic practices\, mantra’s\, devotion and rituals. It was not necessary to belong to a certain cast\, gender or position to be able to be a Tantrika. That opened the possibility that householders could be also practitioners. A big difference with other spiritual movements was the non-renunciatory part of the spiritual path. Life in this world\, with this body was not seen as something that had to be transcended with spiritual practice. Life in this world was actually part of the spiritual practice. \nThe aim of is Classical Tantra was freedom and liberation from ego and conventions and the recognition of our true essence which is Consciousness in different forms. The physical world\, our physical body and Expression (Shakti) are the contracted form of Consciousness (Shiva). The practices and philosophy are found in the Sanskrit scriptures: the Tantra’s. The word Tantra has also different connotations:  a system of rituals\, spiritual practice\, a theory\, weave\, wisdom that saves\, expansion… \nIf you wish to dive into the deep knowledge and practices of Classical Tantra\, and more concrete of Non-dual Shaiva Tantra\, you can join the platform or retreats of Prof. Christopher Hareesh Wallis at Tantra Illuminated. \nNeo-tantra origins around the beginning of the 19th century. The focus of Neo-tantra lies in healthy connections\, intimacy and sexual practices. The value of Neo-tantra is huge in our society where sexuality is often suppressed or expressed in an unhealthy way. Some of the principles of Classical Tantra are found back in Neo-tantra\, but Classical Tantra is not focused on intimacy and sexual practices. \nLike in yoga\, in Tantra there are also a big range of schools and styles. Every facilitator at the festival will give you another taste of tantra because of their lineage\, school\, knowledge and experience. Some of them are schooled in Classical Tantra and others in Neo-tantra or other forms like Shamanic Tantra. \nThe Tantric Joy Festival Amsterdam offers you a wide range of tastes of tantra for you to discover what serves you at this moment  in your live. \nABOUT BOUNDARIES\, SAFETY AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT \nWe find it important that the tantra facilitators at the festival are aware of psychological processes\, groups processes and about how important safety is in in the process of learning and personal growth. This means that they are aware of the importance of boundaries and will offer you as much safety as possible in their workshops. So a facilitator will never push you to do any practice that you don’t feel you should do and will always respect your boundaries. \nTantra practices can bring us in a state of huge joy\, ecstasy and feelings of deep connection. All the beauty and mystery of life can unfold in a lovely way. Tantra can also bring us in contact with the most difficult parts of life: feelings of loneliness\, emptiness\, shame\, sadness or fear. It is not uncommon that you can feel overwhelmed. Therefore we have an emotional support team of eight professionals working as coach or therapist. They are there not there to give you therapy but to support you if you are too triggered to handle a given feeling or situation. \nAll facilitators and emotional support team have agreed with the: ‘Agreements of the Tantric Joy Festival Amsterdam’\, for professionals. And all the participants and space holders agree with the ‘Participants Agreements Tantric Joy Festival Amsterdam’. The agreements are meant to provide a container for physical & psychological safety for everybody. We all know that in a festival there is not a way to guarantee for 100% that everybody will feel safe. We can’t control all behaviours and we can’t prevent that traumas are being triggered. What we can do is to establish agreements which support an open and save environment and invite you to explore what tantra can mean for you. \nHOW DOES A DAY LOOK LIKE?  \n07:00 – 08:00  EARLY WORKSHOPS – Ceremonies\, yoga or breathwork \n08:00 – 09:00  BREAKFAST \n09:15 – 10:00 DAY OPENING – Dancing and exercises to connect with yourself and others and to learn about boundaries and communication. All facilitators of the day will explain what they will offer that day. \n10:30 – 13:00  MORNING WORKSHOPS – You have the choice of 7 different workshops \n13:00 – 14:00  LUNCH \n14:00 – 15:00 CONCERT \n15:00 – 16:00 FAMILY SHARING \n16:00 – 18:30 MIDDAY WORKSHOPS – You have the choice of 7 different workshops \n18:30 – 19:30  DINNER \n20:00 – 22.30 EVENING PROGRAM – You can choose to go to Ecstatic Dance set\, a temple\, a concert or a workshop \nLOCATION \nThe festival will take place in Landgoed Energy Up\, Wielseweg 9 in Zeewolde\, 45 min. from Amsterdam\, and 1 hour by public transport\, see further for a map. The space is in the middel of beautiful nature near the forest and with a beach at the lake\, at a 700 m. walk you will find also a naked beach. We have several big tents and more intimate spaces for the workshops\, temples and concerts. In the camping  we provide you with three saunas and some hot tubs to enjoy for free. During the entire festival\, there will be various spaces to relax and connect. \nHOW TO ARRIVE THERE?  \nThe location of the festival is at the Landgoed Energy Up\, Wielseweg 9.  45 car minutes from Amsterdam and 1 hour with public transport. Public transportation is best by train to Almere Centrum Station and then hop on a bus. From the bus stop `Flevo/Natuur-Wielseweg in Zeewolde`\, it is a 15 minute walk. NOTE: This bus does not drive every hour so get informed if you are taking it. Website of public transportation: www.9292OV.nl and info on trains via www.ns.nl. \nIf you come by car\, make sure you have a parking ticket via the festival ticket-site\, € 5\,-. There are no options nearby to park your car. We are asked by the local authorities to control the number of cars as we are in a nature area. Cars can only be parked in the parking area on the camping itself. As we are in a nature area municipality is very strict at wrongly parked cars and will tow them away directly. If you come by car you can offer a ride in the private facebook page of the festival. \nTICKETS OPTIONS & ACCOMODATION \nWe are exited about our new festival location in nature. We have created many options for many type of needs: Own tent\, Rent a Basic or Glamping Tent\, Camper. If you are sharing these tents or campers\, with one\, two or three persons then the ticket price will drop. Don’t wanna camp no worries there is a nearby holiday bungalowpark. Also optional to come already on Tuesday June 1 between 19:00-21:00 with an extra ticket. All meals will be vegan and as we can’t make special food for people with allergies there will be enough choice for you to eat something else. Twice a day you can buy cake and cookies at the café.
